Highlights

"Best Counselor" — Boston Teen Enrichment Camp

Summers 2024 & 2025 (returning 2026)

Voted best counselor by peers — not once, but twice. A recognition that wasn't assigned or given by adults, but earned through how he showed up each day for younger students.

Declamation — A+ (Term 2, Grade 8)

Spring 2026

After failing Declamation in 7th grade, Alan returned to the same challenge in 8th grade and earned an A+. The grade matters less than what it represents: the ability to identify a problem, adjust, and follow through.

Social Awareness — "Demonstrating" (Top 25%, Grades 8–11)

January 2026

On the EMA Character Skills Snapshot, Alan placed in the top 25% of upper-level students — including 9th, 10th, and 11th graders — in Social Awareness. Quiet evidence of the interpersonal intelligence that makes him effective in leadership and service roles.

Boston Latin School — Admitted and Enrolled

2024 (ongoing)

BLS accepts approximately 10% of applicants through a competitive citywide examination. It is the oldest public school in the United States. Being here, every day, is itself a form of ongoing recognition.

These are not meant to be read as a checklist. Each entry has a story behind it — of effort, adjustment, or sustained commitment. The context matters as much as the recognition.
